"jujutsu kaisen resurrection au" abbr. jjkresau / resau is a project by yours truly to revive all of the characters i like and redesign them + rewrite their stories to fit my personal headcanons / visions of them. it's centered around satoru gojo and suguru geto, but nearly every character in JUJUTSU KAISEN exists in the story of resau.interested in learning more? click these buttons!

NOTE ; the following characters' birthdays and ages are headcanoned: everyone in miscellaneous, haruta shigemo, mahito, nanako and mimiko hasaba, kirara hoshi, hakari kinji, junpei yoshino, choso, yuki tsukumo, yu haibara, riko amanai, masamichi yaga, yoshinobu gakuganji. everyone else has a canon birthday in the source material.

[ NOTE ; this is the entire story of resau summed up into a fun little timeline graph. resau starts at hidden inventory / premature death and ends at the shibuya incident. it is centered around tokyo jujutsu technical college, so the whole thing is based on that. kyoto students show up every now and then as well.]

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES

most characters featured in resau are HUMAN. this means, well.. what you think it does. however, because JUJUTSU KAISEN consists of both HUMANS and CURSES, they have physical differences!

CURSED SPIRITS

  • most cursed spirits will have inhuman, animalistic, or ghostlike bodies

  • if humanoid, cursed spirits sport elflike ears [see MAHITO, SUKUNA]

  • resilient to the majority of negative cursed energy

  • sharp teeth

  • no pupils

  • irises are usually square, but they can fluctuate

HUMANS

  • always have humanoid bodies [obvious, but it needs to be pointed out]

  • more physically fragile than cursed spirits

  • sport rounded, human ears

  • brains are easily susceptible

  • regular teeth [note; some characters may just have stylized teeth. they're still human]

  • more often than not, their bodies are humanoid

  • sport elflike ears; larger or longer depending on what cursed spirit they're related to [see YUUJI, CHOSO]

ABOUT CHARACTERS

FUN FACTS AND MINI LOREâžµ SUGURU GETO's, JUNPEI YOSHINO's, and KOKICHI MUTA's brains were all rewired by MAHITO. this is why their eyes are purple, and also why they all inexplicably re/gained strength or techniques. TSUMIKI FUSHIGURO was also a victim of an attempted rewiring, but since it failed, she can't use jujutsu. however, she can see and interact with cursed spirits, and has heterochromia [brown/purple] as a result.
➵ MAI ZEN'IN was not revived using MAHITO's powers directly, but with SHOKO IEIRI's concentration and YUTA OKKOTSU's "copy", they were able to help her regain her living status. she was temporarily deceased — much like YUUJI ITADORI.
âžµ SATORU GOJO and SUGURU GETO handed NANAKO and MIMIKO HASABA off to jujutsu tech for a few years, as they were still teenagers when they technically adopted them and couldn't take care of them. that being said, they irresponsibly had YUMEMI GOJO when SATORU was 20 and SUGURU was 19... they don't regret it, though. furthermore, SATORU gave birth to HOTARU GETO about a year later. she was planned, to an extent.
âžµ this was implied earlier, but SATORU GOJO was pregnant twice with YUMEMI GOJO and HOTARU GETO. since DRACOBRELLA [SATORU x SUGURU] weren't married and didn't switch up their names when they got married, their children's last names were chosen manually by their parents. SUGURU insisted YUMEMI have SATORU'S last name, and SATORU insisted HOTARU have SUGURU'S.

ABOUT THE WORLD

âžµ the world of jjkresau fully functions and is built in the same setting and timeline as JUJUTSU KAISEN. however, some aspects of characters' lives have been altered to fit personal headcanons and familial relationships. the main villain of resau is RYOMEN SUKUNA, but MAHITO plays a massive role in changing the lives of specific people. if it weren't for him, SUGURU wouldn't have met SATORU, so perhaps he benefits people sometimes...
âžµ resau starts at hidden inventory and ends at the shibuya incident. NAOYA is not currently present within the story, but to keep MAKI's character arc, this may change in future revisions. remember resau is still a work in progress!
âžµ you might have noticed HAJIME KASHIMO listed as one of SATORU's siblings... this is due to a slight timeline change because KENJAKU doesn't exist [for personal reasons. i hate that mf so fucking bad], so he wasn't really revived; he kind of already existed beforehand. little timeline changes like this take place multiple times throughout the story to make up for plot holes in the original story of JUJUTSU KAISEN had they not been in place.

set before satoru and suguru even meet, satoru runs away from his estate and seeks refuge at jujutsu high. he receives a temporary room from yaga and promptly meets suguru and shoko. a short oneshot spanning 1,757 words.

STORY #2

pathway — published JULY 1, 2024

set in their first year of school at jujutsu high, suguru helps satoru through a tearful realization that he is transgender. a short oneshot spanning 1,369 words.

STORY #2.5

pathway (walking on flat feet) — published APRIL 11, 2025

[REWRITE OF PATHWAY] set in satoru's perspective instead of suguru's: ___ has always loved to go her own way in life, and is learning to separate herself from her mother. however, things go a little off-script and she realizes one of those separations is by gender identity. a short oneshot spanning 3,549 words.

set in their third year of school at jujutsu high, satoru confesses to suguru about his romantic feelings towards him. a short oneshot spanning 1,535 words.

set a little while after their graduation, featuring satoru's feelings about being pregnant and not being able to go out as often as he could, due to the ramifications that come with his medical status and the intensity of his technique. a short oneshot spanning 5,725 words.

a full scale fanfiction regarding the events of jjkresau from satoru, suguru, and shoko's second year of high school up to satoru and suguru's marriage. written from the perspectives of both satoru and suguru; current chapters add up to 4, current word count spans 15,829.

a complimentary oneshot to pathway, artery takes place a few months after suguru survives his second cursed technique backfire. satoru consoles him about his insecurities. this fic spans 1,925 words.
