"jujutsu kaisen resurrection au" abbr. jjkresau / resau is a project by yours truly to rewrite jujutsu kaisen with my personal headcanons in mind. it's centered around satoru gojo and suguru geto, but other characters are present as well.interested in learning more? click these buttons!

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES

most characters featured in resau are HUMAN. this means, well.. what you think it does. however, because JUJUTSU KAISEN consists of both HUMANS and CURSES, they have physical differences!

side note: this is an in-universe phenomenon. everyone is human to me, besides the curses.

CURSED SPIRITS

  • most cursed spirits will have inhuman, animalistic, or ghostlike bodies. some — namely the higher ranking ones — will have humanoid bodies

  • if humanoid, cursed spirits sport pointed ears [see MAHITO, SUKUNA]

  • resilient to the majority of negative cursed energy [positive is their weakness]

  • large, sharp teeth that usually jut out from the lips

  • large, dilated pupils that override the iris and most of the sclera

ABOUT CHARACTERS

FUN FACTS AND MINI LORE➵ SUGURU GETO's, JUNPEI YOSHINO's, and KOKICHI MUTA's brains were all rewired by MAHITO. this is why their eyes are purple, and also why they all inexplicably re/gained strength or techniques. TSUMIKI FUSHIGURO was also a victim of an attempted rewiring, but since it failed, she can't use jujutsu. however, she can see and interact with cursed spirits, and has heterochromia [brown/purple] as a result.

ABOUT THE WORLD

➵ the in-universe categorization system was put in place to separate potentially "dangerous" parties from "trustworthy" ones... as according to jujutsu tech authorities. what really counts to them as a "hybrid" or "human" is, in all honesty, very flimsy. this is why SUGURU GETO is classified as human despite his fangs.
➵ not-so-fun fact: the GOJO CLAN is depicted very similarly to the ZEN'IN CLAN in resau.
that is to say they are violently sexist.

set in their first year of school at jujutsu high, suguru helps satoru through a tearful realization that he is transgender. a short oneshot spanning 1,369 words. [OUTDATED]

[REWRITE OF PATHWAY] set in satoru's perspective instead of suguru's: ___ has always loved to go her own way in life, and is learning to separate herself from her mother. however, things go a little off-script and she realizes one of those separations is by gender identity. a short oneshot spanning 3,549 words.

a little window of time between serious missions in their third year, this fic is from shoko's perspective. she details her thoughts on satoru and suguru's relationship whilst they watch pokémon the movie 2000 in shoko's dorm. a short oneshot spanning 2,700 words.

set a little while after their graduation, featuring satoru's feelings about being pregnant and not being able to go out as often as he could, due to the ramifications that come with his medical status and the intensity of his technique. a short oneshot spanning 5,725 words.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

self-explanatory! there are a lot of interesting things i'd like to answer about this au, so feel free to ask things!

Q: Why is Suguru black?A: 1: Don't ask people this, it's racist. I'm only answering it because as per the title of this section, it's a frequently asked question. 2: His skin tone comes from being Polynesian — Māori specifically — on his father's side and Indian on his mother's. He's still Japanese too though!! I think that also comes from his dad but I'd have to ask. Effectively, his kids Hotaru and Yumemi also share this. Genetics and stuff.

Q: How did Satoru and Suguru have their kids? How are they biological?A: Satoru's trans FTM (female to male)! He was pregnant with both of their babies. At some point he was getting a little sick of it, though, because parenting at 20-22 is a LOT of work (especially because they kind of stupidly decided to raise Nanako and Mimiko too), so he talked with Suguru and later had a hysterectomy. Between you and me, they almost had a third bio kid, but Satoru decided to cut it at two.
